at the track, with no driver, spair, jack, sub, amp, or the top half of the rear seats, and i tipped the scales at 2370 lbs. I was by far the lightest car in the group, with the second being a NA eclipse at 2740lbs.

I must say i was suprised... i expected maybe high 2400 with the reductions, but not 2370... is that normal or is that a little low? note i have no sunroof, spoiler, leather, abs, or whatnot. i do have an a/c, power everything, cruise control, and rear wiper package...

That's pretty damn light. Those weight reductions you did really worked. How heavy were those rear seats?

Wow.. thats extremely light.. Toyota did a real good job in giving us a light car to start with

those top half of the rear seat may have shaved off 20lbs, maybe

My GT-S weighed about 2520lbs with everything in it (including full tank of gas) except for the driver, of course.

cf hood, removed the rear setbelts, rear tow hooks, no spoiler, no sunroof, no leather, no abs, no side airbags, etc..\

i wonder how much i could lose by stripping the a/c... and how much power i'd get back...

anyone done it yet? i may consider it when fall comes back around...

I think if you strip 17 pounds it is like getting 1 HP. (don't remember where I read that or maybe I am just pulling it out of my arse :P)

Take the door off, the trunk, and the dash....that should shave off some weight. Or enroll your car to Jenny Craig.

And let your 70lb little sister drive.

Having no sunroof will help, but it doesn't hurt that much either. It's made of a lightweight polycarbon. For racing purposes I'd definitely say no to the sunroof, but in the summer time.. oh yes it is wonderful. Heat rises :)

Agreed. My GT-S weighs 2520 with a sunroof, so at most it adds 20 lbs.

Considering the GT is listed at 2425, you aren't that far below that.

i have heard the sunroof weights around 200lbs... but i'm not sure... it was nice to have in my auto gt, but i would give it up any day for a 5spd :)
