So i pull up to a red light and who other than a cop pulls up next to me. I've got 20% tints in the front driver side and passenger side windows and double limo from the back seats windows and back. I've also got blue piaa lights in the front and blue piaa's in the license plate lights. So anyway I drive away and the cop pulls off and makes a turn. Whew I was so glad. Then out of nowhere he cuts through a sub and pulls me over. Damn so he then gave me this big lecture on how sick he is of kids and their sport compact cars or ricers (what an ass). He gave me a ticked for the tints and lights and said i have to remove them in a week or there will be trouble. What an ass cops in my area hastle kids for the stupidest ****. Got pulled over twice before and i guess third times a charm!

Are you talking about actual blue piaa lights? or the blue bulbs that are supposed to look whiter? If they are actually blue then, no offense, but what did you expect? According to the law thats impersonating law enforcement.. at least around here. But yeah i ****in hate the way cops seem to pick on people with **** done to their car.. I feel ya on that.. at the same time, you knew the stuff on your car wasn't legal and you were runnin the risk of getting caught.. and ya did. sux man

I don't understand how anybody can ever begin to believe that blue or red lights or neon underbodies could mean they are a cop. While I could care less if they ba nstuff like that it still seems like just about the dumbest reason they could possibly come up with for that law.

Hmm Need4Spd you live in newtown? Kind of surprised I've never seen your car.

yeah that sucks, but need4spd is right, before installing anything that gets cops attention, you should check with the rules about it in your area, or the next time will be trouble. in many places, blue and red lights are not allowed as they would be mistaken for police or ambulance if your car is spotted from a distance. and no, underbody neons are not illegal as far as i know it.

Troy cops suck. I got a ticket on John R, but i was doing 70. Tints will definitely get u a fixit ticket some time down the line.

why would you need double limo tint in the first place? you deserve those tickets moron.

Yes they are doing thier job... but that doesn't mean that anyone should respect them for it. Telemarketers also just do thier job... just as executioners do thier job... or even hitmen do thier job, or thieves, or rapists... Just because they were appointed by the government does not mean what they do is right...

Don't have to tell you how many dumb people are out there that just might believe that is a police car thing. Neways people when you know something thats illegal you run the risk of being pulled over, one should not be suprised of being pulled over thats all.
I have illegal stuff on my car, I know the risks of being pulled over and I am willing to risk the fix-it ticket.

They were not appointed to their job, they have to be trained to qualify for their job. You know the laws states that your tint is illegal so is many things on the car is illegal, they were made illegal by the people of your state as well as DOT. They were enforcing the law. In california no tint is allowed for the drivers side and passenger side window, anything under 75% is almost undetectable also functionally useless. Thats a tint shop trying to sell you tint job so they can make more money.

Sometimes it's justified when the officer cannot tell a legal modification from one that isn't, even when there's a protocol that they're supposed to follow.

Examples: Cops pulling over those with TRD exhausts or CARB legal intakes.

Also I did not get my ass beat on an episode of cops, it's just a bunch of smaller things that just add up. Besides... you don't actually think that there are not any crooked cops do you? There are more of them than you can even begin to imagine... all I can say is TRY to stay out of sight, because some cops do harrass you for no good reason.

Just took all the tints off i think i'm outta the phase of tints and think it looks a lot cleaner once i get a better wing and after winter once i get my rims back on will look nice and legal!

i see people all the time driving around with illegal mods (me on occasion included) but I understand that If i get pulled over i wont blame the cop,

he didn't force you to put illegal lights on or put illegal tint on now did he.

dont blame someone else blame yourself

i would be more sypethetic if you had nothing illegal on your car and were 100% stock and the cop still pulled you over and harrassed you (provided you weren't speeding or driving like an ass)

I've been pulled over many times over...my experience (and i'm sure someone will either agree with me or say something around the lines of 'no sh**') is that when you're just straight up honest about the cop-for whatever reason you were pulled over-the officer will either A) let you go or B) write up the ticket with the least amount of trouble for you to fix it. Why would they do that? Simple, you made their job easier, and gave them exactly one less lying a**hole to deal with.
As far as complaining about the fix-it-deal with it. When you do something that's illegal to your car, don't expect to get away with it forever.
