Tire rotations?

I ran across someone running a Celica GT and they use what I thought was a rather odd tire rotation plan. They don't rotate. They run one set on the front and one on the rear. When the fronts wear out they buy 2 for the front and that is all.

My method has been to rotate sets front to rear each week.

What do you guys think?

I rotate regularly, but don't think it matters a lot. The rears probably never really get hot enough in an autocross to actually heat cycle out. The fronts certainly do. By not rotating you will kill them in fewer heat cycles, so there is something to be said for that.


The more I think about it the more I think that not roatating might be the way to go.
