I fouind a db meter?

OK.. I found a db meter (Scott Instrument Laboratories Type 452 but I don't know what settings to use to get an accureate sound level. It has weighting "A B C" and mater "S F B" . What settings should I use to get an approximate db of my system?

yes, I've had a few tonight so the spelling is a bit off.... but anyway what should I set this meter on to get a good reading for the db of my system?

I'm pretty sure you use the 'A' weighting. Setting the response to S (slow) will give you an average value sound level while setting the response to F (fast) will display the sound level present at that moment in time.
