drivers are fawkin stoopid....i was on 128S heading to canton in mildly heavy stop and go traffic. i stopped with traffic, i saw the guy behind me coming a mile away he was so dazed out, then he hit me, prolly at a good 25mph or so, i took my foot off the brake right before he hit me, so i rolled forward and slammed my brake before i hit the car in front of me.

LUCKILY not a scratch on my jeep or his F-150!!! he hit my spare tire, HAHAHAHAHA. gotta love havin an external spare. all was good, we went out seperate ways after we proly backed up traffic even more! just my story of the day

that was a smart thing you did, letting go of the brake.. good job. :applaud:

why what does that do exactly? does it soften the hit a little?

rddcelica
12-09-2003, 02:51 PM
well think matt....aside form me having rubber on the back of my jeep, with me letting off the brake, when he hit me i just got jolted forward withought any tension on the brakes, then all i did was floor the brakes to avoid hitting the car in front of me....all in all it was no different than coming to a screeching hault.

that and my foot coulda been hurt fomr the accident if i had pressure on the brake

I guess it is good to have trucks. When i wrecked my car I hit a explorer type truck and pushed in my front end and there was not one scratch left on his truck. My end $7,000 worh of damage truck $0. Pays to have a truck most of the time.

well in my case....where the lady in a minivan decided to basically sidewipe me...her airbag deployed which obstructed her vision..thus causing her to lose control of her vehicle. She went through some trees and then hit the side a bridge. So needless to say her minivan was basically totalled while for me it was 3,300

actually greg....bigger isnt neccisarilly better. with just some good skids, and some good tires, i could wheel pretty much anywhere in MA thats actually legal, i obviously couldnt go over the fun obstacles that make wheeling a challenge, but i could make my way around.

I mean its FAR from cheap to mod a jeep, you cant just lift it, put big tires and call it doneand wheel, you gotta worry about x-fer case, driveshafts, axles, lockers, armor, and bnch of other stuff.

thats why i wanna keep my TJ somewhat smaller(prolly just big enough for 33's, and then buy an old CJ-5 to make my non street-legal trail rig. i mean i could buy AND mod a CJ for cheaper than it would be for me just to mod the TJ to be a good wheeling vehicle

hey i stick by my motto..."function before beauty"

i could care less how it looks, fawk i dont care if when you meet me the first thing you do is kick in one of my fenders. as long as its functional thats all i care

oh but if my new sailcloth top gets fawked up ill get PISSED

i've always wanted an old CJ5! i had an opportunity to buy one from my old neighbor. but i cracked up my parents corolla and all my $ went to that. but its a good thing i didnt get that jeep anyways, the motor went a few months later! lol

me and my dad almost bought a 67' mustang convertible fully restored in a baby blue but we backed out cause i needed the cash to by my first car, and this mustang would have only been used for a show car, a father son type deal, but my dad will be buying an antique car sometime in a couple years.

ya i think when i buy a new car when i graduate college - 5 years from now when i end up selling my celica, i think i will buy another sports car/ or some sporty sedan or somethin like a wrx that is out then. but i would also like to buy like a 3 grand off road beast off of ebay, if u look at ebay and type in like rock,u can find some reasonably priced rock crawlers and stuff.

although when im a hopefully one day filthy rich adult i think ill have a modified off road hummer as a fun car, lol.

hahaha...hummers cant wheel for sh*t, and theyre too wide. a wrangler could out wheel a hummer ANY day.

and good luck finding a good rock crawler for $3g's. maybe a good lil trail rig beater, but no way a rock crawler. as i said man, and take my word for it....just cause its big doesnt mean its well built...theres SOOOOO much more to it than how big it is.

like if you saw my jeep big enough and it had 38' tires, youd prolly think it was a beast, but wait, do i have strong enough axles to handle a tire that big. am i geared for tires that big? is the suspension triangulated, or is it just a basic suspension lift with possibly a body lift? ALOT more to think about than just size man.

A little off the subject but I saw a bus today hit a toyota camry on the side and ripped off his 2 passenger side doors and all he had was a little scratch. The guy got out of his car and I can't even explain the look on his face. Total shock!!!

Randy fudge that?!?! i woulda made a huge deal about it *cough* my neck *cough*

2 months ago i was nearly sued because i was backing out on a parking lot, in boston and this lady hit me but witness say it was my fault.

so the lady hurt her knee supposibly shes 4 feet 3 and her seat is way up into the stearing wheel , anyhow to make a long story short.

She tried suing me but didnt work once we got to court there wasnt enough evidence to continue the case, so it got dropped there.

PS - we hit going about 5mph. she was claiming she dislocated her knee and her shoulder popped * yahhh ok lady *

so from this day on i decided any crashes that happen to me im gonna make a huge ****ing deal about it, not to be a jerk but bad ppl ruined me.
