The drag strip I go to has one. You can drive on it after each run if you want. It doesn't cost anything. You just drive onto a plate and read the display in the window.

the dragstrip... after you run on ours there is a place that you can drive up on this pad and it displays you weight on a screen..

Recycling/garbage facility that takes large trucks. Trucks pull across as they enter (loaded weight) and then as they exit (empty weight), giving the weight of the garbage they dropped off. A small facility that only takes residential drop-offs (you pull up in your car and empty 2 bags) will not have scales for vehicles.

I'm not sure if the scales at rest-stops for trucks are free or not.

NO you can't use thodr scales on the side of the road you can actually get a ticket if you take a non-comercial vehical in there. Try either a truck stop or any major track should have one. i've used both.

since i live in missourah, me and my friend broke into a soybean factory place and they have this huge scale that they use for weighing the soybeans. I weighed it there. It was around mid 2500s with me in it. His 1980 z28 was like 4000lbs!!
