Hey, I keep hearing about Paintless Dent Removal, and how these techniques can get rid of those annyoing dings and dents that your doors get because of inconsiderate people bashing their doors open onto your car.

Anyone try this or have any extra information?

I have several dings and dents because...well...people are stupid. It's that simple. I now park my car all the way away from any other car.

So, anyone with any info. on PDR or maybe some other form of getting rid of the dents? By the way, I don't have millions to spend, so please keep price in mind as well.

Thanks.

i have had 2 dents removed, work'd out great, they were done in about 10mins. cost about $40 per panel. luckly mine were on the door, so it was easy to fix.

Someone else on here posted that they use a plunger. They just slapped the sucker right over the dent and pumped away at it  :wiggle:

I have a dent girl that works for me and she can make a car look like it was never dented.

I have also seen them in action. They simply heated the surface with a tool (this guy was using a blow dryer... no crap) and then they pushed the dent out from behind.

It depends on where the dent is. I got a dent right where the the pointy part is that runs along the side of the car. Beacuse of the shape the metal was harder to push out. They pushed out the dent but the paint was a little messed up and started cracking a little. It looks like a rash even though the area is smooth. If the dent is on a flat surface then the removal should be no problem.

Thats where I went.. they were awesome.. I had a HUGE dent on my drivers side door.. and now it totally gone! So a 10x8 dent on my door and 2 small ones on my rear right quarter panel cost me 275... compared to a body shop estimate of 550 for just the door! Do it!

Dent Wizard, huh? I hope there's one near me. *shrugs*.

If not...where do I got for PDR? If I goto body shops, won't they tell me to do it their way which would cost me lots of $?

Wow static, that sounds like a good deal. There's a dent wizard like 2-3 blocks from my apt. I'll have to check it out. I have about 6 little bumps on my right rear quarterpanel...

Yeah man, I really really recommend their work. The guy that was doing the job even let me see everything he did.. It just doesn't make sense to go to a regular body shop unless you have major damage/scraped paint... For regular dents, you can't beat these guys!

I'd highly recommend Dent Wiz...they are miracle workers on door dings.

On a side note: I've heard of people using dry ice and a hair dryer to pop out dents before. I guess you heat up the area with the dryer so its really hot, then run the dry ice over the dent (with tongs, not your bare hands) and its supposed to pop out - because the metal expands rapidly. I wouldn't try it, though, unless you like to live dangerously. I'm sure its not an exact science ;)

Do you think if I brought my Celi to the Toyota dealership around here, they'd know where I could go to get it done?

i would ask the dealer, they may give you a name/company that does simple dent removal for there new/used cars.

at least thats what they did when i did car detail/transport forf bmw/volvo/vw... they would get a new car with a tiny door dent, call the guy and he would go around the lot and fix little dents.

and when i had a dent on my celica, i got ahold of a guy that works for a dealership and i went to nissan, and he removed the dent in there parking lot. turn'd a lotta heads at the dealership ehehe.
