say I wanted to turn my busted up celica into a RWD. wouldn't I just be able to get a really long "axle" and use that as a drive shaft and just plug up the other side? I was thinking of connecting it either with the AE86 differential or else the JDM altezza differential....it looks like everything would fit. I just need a better look at the car once I buy it back...

I say get tricky, take your factory tranny and engine and move it so that it sits in front of the rear wheels. ;)
Seriously, look into the rear suspension of an MR2 and see how you could get that to hook up. It of course would require TONS of fabrication, but it would be easier that trying to turn that engine around. There are no RWD trannies that would mate to the ZZ block.

I dunno, I think the T50 tranny used in the Ae86 should fit. The 20v 4age used a 6-speed gearbox as well and they have been mated to the T50 tranny. It's just I want to keep the 6-speed and so was wondering if you would be able to to just use one of the axle holes on the tranny side and stick in a driveshaft in there. would it not be as strong or what?
