In the spirit of DD putting up these $99 JDM consoles, how does everyone with LCDs control them? I know many come with remotes, but the IR port is covered up when they are mounted.

What's the easiest way to control the power for them and all of the functions? Do they have a wired remote option or something? Or is there a way to tap into the IR connector and extend it out to somewhere it would be usable?

My LCD is just an LCD. It has power running into it, which is triggered by my DVD player. Then it just has dimming controls (which are set and covered), and RCA input. Beyond that, I don't have any on-screen features with my LCD. Some that you buy don't. It all depends on which you get.

in mine i but the ir receiver in the clock, i took out the passanger seat belt light and mounted the ir in there, this way it there is no holes anywhere and it looks stock. the only thing is that you loose the passanger blinking light. works great throught the plactic, just point the remote at the clock later chris
