car fax question

will car fax tell you if a car has been misshifted, and the engine replaced ?

umm... i ran carfax on 3 cars that i KNEW had been in MAJOR wrecks, and all had been wrecked over a year before i ran it(to give it time to show up on the records). ALL THREE came back as clean titles.... hmm....
