View Full Version : just put a turbo on :)
i just got a turbo installed and i'm running 5 psi for now untill i get use to it.it's a greddy kit and it can handle up to 15psi.i just can't get traction in first and almost all second.
o i forget to mention that it's on my civic not my celica(i have nitrous on the celica)

it's a JDM ZC 1.6 DOHC.
i'll take it to the track this weekend and hopefully run some 13s.BTW it's on a 90 HB civic so the car is light

you should be able to do better than that with that setup.
What kind of ecu do u have? U should get the 91 teg ecu and strech the rev to 7500. I ran a 13.9 in my old CRX with a mini me swap.
i have a teg ecu but i'll get a Zdyne ECU soon.

hahaha... hmm, thats an idea.. or we can just compare track times :)
ok
but i'm at 3200 ft and you are at sea level.
i'll have to take about .6 secs of my time

wrong!!!!!
turbo cars are not effected by altitude as much as you think
and sure as hell not .6 tenths
BTW you turboed one of the worst honda motors.
compressions too high and the cylinder walls are too thin
but anways
happy boostin silly azz!
my friend had a SOHC and ran a 13.4 here and then took it to sea level and ran 12.8. he was using a t3 instead of the td04h
Bryan
i've been on this board for more than a year and i don't post BS.
9.5 is not that high.i'll probably rebuild the motor and lower the comp. and if i had the $$ i might even sleeve the block

BTW,do you recomend using a BTM?

actually yes i do
i had one fforsale at one time. never sold it thou
gave it away
=o(
i wouldn't rely to heavily on the upped voltage of the msd itself. i would rely on the timing retard on the boost side more then anything.
my turbo can handel up to 15 psi maxed out . do you think i can run 12psi with racing fuel and with some ice on the IC before the run at the track.BTW, i have NGK racing plugs(colder).gapped at 28.
sorry to bother you with all of these questions.
one more thing
does water injection work with turbo hondas?
Bryan H

i would tune the car before i even thought about running that high of boost on it
BTW the turbo can push over 40 psi. its not limited to 15 psi. no turbo is that limited
it might be way the hell off the compressor map or just flat out off its max range in general
colder plugs and 110 octane should be fine for it, just make a couple passes with the car on low boost first.
water injection will work on any car. works even better on turbo cars. it has a preset for when it kicks in {psi switch/hobbs switch}
mix water and alcohol for the best way to use it

Larry you are going to get smoked..! I have tha engine in my 87 teg and pull 12.8...! at 15psi.

are you using a T3 or a td04?
do you have your ZC built?
i'm thinking of building the ZC, but first i'll blow up the motor.10 psi + 50 shot wet.if it didn't blow up 10 psi+75 shot...then 100shot.
