cell phone mute

I purchased the RFX9300 and noticed that it had a mute wire. I would really like to hook it up because i can never hear anything when the radio is loud. I have checked out a few websites but they just have the module. What about the piece that connects to the phone? If anyone has done this mod please provide all information
