Carmax Buying Experiences

I'm about to help a relative with a car purchase from CarMax, and am wondering what experiences people have had with them.

IE Even though they say "no hassle pricing", has anyone successfully negotiated with them?

My mother bought an RX300 from them. It was very different from the dealership experience. There was no pressure and they didn't play games with the customers.
