Hi, I need to finish my Celica's audio system so please help me out. Also read on as there is a chance for someone to make some money here.
1) I have the following. I don't plan on returning or trading any of it so please don't tell me they suck. They probably do. Do, however, mention if they won't work well with the new stuff I have yet to purchase.
Headunit: Sony ES CDX-M750
Rear: Infinity Kappa 62.1i 2-Way 6.5"
CAP: Lightning Audio 1 Farad Digital
2) I need two amps, front speakers and a sub.
3) SUB - I want to get the JL Audio 10W3. I don't want multiple subs and I don't want anything larger than a 10.
4) Front speakers will be Infinity Kappy Components. Should I get last year's 60.2cs or pay a premium for the 60.3cs? What do you guys think?
5) For the subs. This is what confuses me. I want to stick with Sony here. I hate mix and matching companies. Three companies is bad enough. Yeah I know it's dumb and I am limiting myself but I am not trying to win any competitions here, it's strictly for me.
Anyways, why is it that most people, including the moderator recommend I get a 2 channel amp for the sub? What is the purpose of this? Wouldn't it be better to get a single mono sub amp? Also, say I get a 2 channel Sony amp that delivers "380 watts RMS x 1 bridged". I assume that means it pumps out 380 watts if you output to one channel rather than two. If the JL Audio sub says it has "Continuous power handling of 250W" would my amp blow the sub? Sorry if it's a dumb question.
What about the 4 channel sub for the speakers? 75x4 is good enough right? Is it too much, too little, etc?
6) What about getting an all in one amp that powers everything? Bad idea?
7) Are the dash kits readily available now? Do you think my local installer will have any problems installing anything? What about our tweeters for the door? Will the Infinity Comp set fit?
Now the cool part
I don't really want to scour the net for pricing. So if any of you here is a dealer, I will buy everything from you if you give me a good price. This is a good chunk of business so please don't try and d!ck me. Also I know many of you are sponsored/influenced by companies so please don't try to get me to buy some other brand unless there is a valid reason: Say Sony subs were known to catch on fire.
Also if anyone knows any reputable online stores they have dealt with, please tell me also. My car needs a better audio system!
