I'm having problems with my system. I'm running 2 Infinity Kappa Perfects on a 1000 watt rockford amp. The question is that sometimes the amp will just shut down and then turn on again, depending on how power I'm pumping into it. Anyone know how to eliminate the problem of it turning on and off. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

This is most likely due to a heat problem. Check the location of the amp for good air flow and possibly look at upgrading to a larger power and ground wires.

My thoughts exactly. It is protecting itself from overheating. Either not ventilating, not large enough wiring, or the amp is overworking itself (speakers require too much juice). The latter is most likely not this case with your system though. Mine used to do that so I moved locations in the trunk, checked grounding wires, and upgraded to 4 guage wires for the big bad amps.

An amp shutting off because the power wires aren't big enough? :ugh: I'm missing something here.
Where is your amp located, what kind of amp is it, and how are the speakers wired to the amp? Hopefully it's something simple.
