OK, so the winter (what there has been of it) is going to end soon and I'm officially bored to tears with everything else. So here I am trying to figure out how to have fun this spring, summer, and fall. Therefore, I'm here to ask for main configuration changes from a showroom-stock GT-S (2000).

I ran GS in 5 events last year (one 1st!) and did nothing more than get an alignment (crash bolts), and 15" wheels w/Kumho stickies. There have been conversations about struts, etc. with alot of it stating that nothing great is really out yet. I'd love to get an intake but haven't been willing to bump myself out of stock yet. But, with the start of a new season (and new rules) I'd like to assess my options again. And, because I'm lazy, I'll ask those of you more in-the-know than I! OK nxracer, you're right: I'm lazy - but at least I'm smart enough to ask the right people for advice, right? =)

So let's try it this way: in 30 words or less, what would you tell your buddy to do to his GT-S if he were going to run SCCA stock? And, what would you tell him to do to his GT-S if he were going to run SCCA STS?

Hey I took that picture

For DStock:
Koni Sports

For STS:
Run DStock, the car will be faster in stock trim.

For STS: Rear swaybar, alignment, Azenis tires, AEM intake, any or no exhaust, coilovers (tein here). That's enuff.

Don't be so sure about DS being faster anymore....

Time wise STS and GS match up pretty well and the Falkens are NOT new. They were in the hands of some pretty good drivers last year too.

I actually know a guy who ran them in CSP in 1999 (A Falken distributor)

I know STS is slower, But I can dream, can't I?

Or leave the car stock....Oops :)

I know the Falkens were around last year, but as early as 99??

Hokay, nx... if I put on coilovers and rear sway but move to the Azenis (mind you, with 7.5" width instead of 6.5" width stock) I will not be any faster than stock with stickies? I'm purporting the intake as no great advantage here and that the exhaust can be done in either class...

Oh, and who do you recommend I go through for the Konis?

scap: who do you recommend I go through for coilover and swaybar parts/recommendations?

Thanks...

Yes Lindsay I really feel the "stock" class car will be faster on the course. But STS is a hard class to figure, it is IMHO a very weather and course surface dependant class.

As for the Koni's, Shox.com. They currently offer free shipping and of course no sales tax
Just request a quote HERE (http://www.shox.com/appguide/quote/quote_form.php?makeID=78&supplierID=70&lineID=4371&itemID=1836456)

When you get the quote back it should even have pricing for other suspension goodies

As for parts, I've got tein coilovers, and hotchkis swaybars. Bought thru Bottle at Titan Motorsports.

I don't know if the Hotchkis suspension is better or not, but the suspension I got from them for my wife's truck (direct from them, btw) is very nice. High quality stuff. You might do best with an all Hotchkis setup, but it is expensive. Something like $2500 for everything....
