Red Corner Lenses

I just got pulled over for painting my side markers red. I knew they were illegal but I played dumb. The cop just told me I can only have white or amber. He said blue we're illegal too. I have had the clear ones siting on my table at home but never got around to putting them on. If anyone has their's red you will probably get pulled over someday for a fix it. They also checked my fog lights which are CATZ. I also think they targeted my car since I have a team Hashiriya sticker on my windshield. FYI

umm... ya they are illegal... although i painted the sides on my sisters cougar red :) no one cares in mississippi

although if they are red they aren't illegal if you dont put a bulb in there...

I have had them in for 6 months, at least, before being pulled over. If I didn't have the clear lenses, I might just have taken out the bulb.

I had mine red for about 6 months, now I've got the clears with a bloodred light bulb inside of it. Have not been bothered at all. Not even for the red vinyl strip across the top of my windshield or the Team Adrenalin written on the bottom of my windshield. The only thing I got pulled for were the red license plate bulbs. He never said anything about the other lights or things.

California laws says:

Front turn signals can be either amber or white

Rear turn signals can be either amber or red

No red lights must be visible from the front of the car at any time.

Yeah, I guess it all depends on your state. In Florida, it states any FLASHING red or blue light is not legal. So I guess those corners are ok since they don't blink!!

Are there after market lenses already painted red? Did you guys buy euro or clear lenses and paint them red, with what? I have a white 2002 GTS 6speed with red fill in stickers on the back and door panels, i would love to keep the red theme with red side markers. Thanx for the input!!!

i also have a white GTS and i did the white/red combo.

looks good IMO, better than clears. you just paint the stock orange ones with clear red paint.

i havent been busted, maybe becuase when they are on, they are like red-orange. i made them flash with my signals too.

I'm getting the red vinyl sheet from b0x to do my backlights all red and i think i'm gonna try to do the front corners with the red vinyl and see how it looks. This way if i don't like it i can always take it off and i don't have to worry about finding paint, it was a pain in the a** to find. I'll post how it looks when i get it on.
