does AC automatically go on?

when I put my defrost/defrost and floor on and set it to cool air, I'm pretty sure my AC automatically kicks on. it's not a problem now, 'casue I have it on heat all the time (winter), but in the summer it sucks, 'cause my winsheild will fog up and I NEVER like to use my AC. any help would be great. thanks

yep. im pretty sure the ac does automatically turn on when you select defrost.

that sucks. AC really makes the celi lagg. any tips on how to keep the windshield from fogging so easily? (other than rolling the windows down)

Periodically cleaning the inside windows will reduce fogging on the inside or you can also spray some anti fog on the inside.

I think there's a way to disable the automatic AC compressor engagement when defrost is selected. Run a search for it. Probably requires cutting wires, however.

I posted this somewhere else the other day. Pop open the fuse box cover on the passenger side of the center console. Directly behind the settings for windshield and floor defroster, you'll see a pair of wires. Pull them, and the auto AC will be disabled. Don't worry, the wires are combined in a plug at the end, so you can just plug it back in if you ever want to re-enable this feature.

my knob wont go all the way to defrost. it will go to the defrost/floor fine but when i try to get it all the way to defrost it just wont go. anyone know whats going on there?

Why would you ever use defrost mode in the summer?

ive had the knob off before and it can only go on 1 way cuz of cuts in the **** thing
