I see you have the 6 speed tranny on your gt is that any help at all? Or did you just do it so you could say you have a 6 spd gt? I was thinking about it but didnt think it would be worth it.

Yes, you revv higher quicker on first gear, and you have a lower cruise rpm when you're at 80mph, instead of the 4k rpm for a 5speed gt here in the states.

6 speed is the euro spec gt. I dont know the 5 speed gt cos only saw auto gt`s from the States. Actually I think there are only 2 type of manual trannys rather its a gt or a gts. 6 and 5 speed, so I hope its not only the better shifting points to the engine but also stronger to handle more hp.
I just think this is the reason why I never had any problems with my tranny since I`m boosted. ( I also take care of my tranny)
Dont know much about the trannys but someone could correct me if I`m wrong.

The final gear is still the same, so on the freeway you're still at 4k rpms at 80mph in 6th. You only rev quicker and have to shift more.

Calsoldier I don't know your 5 Speed gearbox. But our european 6 Speed GT Gearbox has a longer sixth than our GT-S.
ps: I love my 6 Speed! ;)
