Blown my engine!

I can't believe it - on my way to work my engine poped in my Celica 190. I'm in the UK and the local Toyota garage seem to feel it is ftal - nightmare though. Thankfully its still under warranty so should get a new engine out of it but felt kind of bad leaving my car knowing it was dead at the garage. I got a rover 75 as a courtesy car :(

Does anyone know of this happeneing to anyone else. Its 2 12/2 yrs old and just coming up to 50,000 miles. It started making tractor sounds and then within about 5 miles of that happening died - I checked the oil and that was cool so god knows what happened!

I know mis-shifting can cause prob's but this happening when you just drive down the road?

This just happened to another member on this board, except for the fact that he has a GT (140).

You may have been fatally low on oil and just had a meltdown withing the block. If thats the case, good luck on Toyota honoring your warrenty unless of course they are the ones who change your oil.

EDIT: just reread your post, didn't notice the oil part. Well, i have no idea other than that, good luck.
