Well, they aren't catering to me yet. How abouts they build a quality, ergonomic car, then we'll see. If I had the $100,000 to spend on a car, it sure as **** wouldn't be a Ford, I don't care how great the GT-40 is supposed to be if it does actually get built, there is better for a little more money (and not by Dodge).
The Focus is plenty slow, although it does handle well, so they say, and there can't be much more upgraded to they hint at too.
The Bullit - looks upgrade, the Cobra, it only took them how many years to beat out the F-bodies... and now that they are gone, huh...?
Mach 1, I have no idea what that is about.
Regardless, how about instead of putting up shoddy performance number, put up numbers that count... ie. reliability and customer satisfaction.
And I don't want to here this **** that your Mustang, and your brother's Ford has had no problems. I am talking statistics, where is takes more than you and your brother to quantify a company's history.
But you are right, at least they are trying to cater to some desires here.

Oh, missed the last question, have any inside news to shed, most will be made with poor quality. Typical American management.
I'm trying to convince someone [well, anyone, actually] to import the Focus RS. I'd consider selling the ITR for that one.
I'm not a fan of superchargers so the next Cobra doesn't really cater to me.
I like the SVT Focus. Wish it were al little quicker in a straight line, but what the Hell?
Bullitt was cool. Understeered a bit too much stock, though.
Mach 1 [2003 or 4 I think] sounds very nice on paper!
GT40 Mk II circa 1966 is one of my favorite cars of all time. It, and the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, 1973 and 4 Porsche 911 Carrera RS and RSRs. I am wondering what platform the car will be based off of... the upcoming Jaguar F-Type is my guess. You may have seen the F-Type on the Speedvision car show that comes on on Sunday evenings.

hmm last tiem i checked this post was to Chui, not to anyone ignorant who wants to bad mouth Ford.
Chui--
why not a fan of superchargers? i think they're a good compromise to make up for less cubes on a motor, esp the roots type so the boost isnt dependent on rpm nearly as much as centrifugal...creates a broader thicker powerband, like a larger motor..somethign the 4.6 has needed for awhile in its battle vs. the LS-1.
The Bullitt was cool cuz you guys threw subframes at it..haha..and factory tokicos, cobra brakes were nice as well :)
SVT Focus needs more ponies..or something..needs more acceleration to it i think, once it has that it would be THE import fighter IMO. but you guys are def,. on the right track with the car, and i welcoem any blue oval product that can fight in the sport compact market...i esp. can not wait to see its handling numbers...and for dmotorsports backing of it is refreshing as well. do you have any idea how much potential that engine ahs left for the aftermarket tuenrs out there?
how do you think the newest incarnation of the GT-4 compares to the original? and will Ford put into LeMans to fight against Team ORca's vipers, and the corvettes?

and why not? you have an ITR right? the only way you're going to make some power with that thing is forced induction.

I saw the focus RS in the brussels motor show. sure is a nice car... but speedwise you will find the integra much faster.
HillfigerCelica: Power isn't everything and when it is very important it's also the manner in which it's extracted. There's this little thing that means a great deal to me and it called "Heritage." Hondas are normally aspirated. As are North American Fords and Ferrari V-12s. I'd never even consider supercharging them. As for the ITR's engine I cannot imagine making it any other way. Same for the 2ZZ-GE. What some people may not realize is that the BALANCE of the car is what makes the ITR so special - not the 195 bhp - which in the scheme of things is NOT a powerful car as powerful cars go. If I had to choose between a turbo and a blower I'd opt for the turbo. Why? I am much more a "road racer" than a "drag racer". And in no major series has there been blowers on the engines.
SlasherX: I fear that Ford may have the wrong intentions with this car. They may be thinking Corvette Z06 and Viper. They SHOULD be thinking 24 Hours of LeMans and 12 Hours of Sebring not "how quick this thing will be down Woodward Avenue." I don't think they understand the word "Heritage".
Celica GTE Racing: I recall reading in AUTOCAR that a pre-production prototype of the Focus RS was only 0.25 second off the pace of the E46 M3 on one of the smaller road circuits in Britain. I don't know if the ITR in stock form could do that. Maybe with similar-sized rubber the ITR could run with the RS on a road course. I think the only area where the ITR would be better would be in build quality. Ford needs a counter-rotating balance shaft on the 2.0L Zetec to smooth out the vibrations and assist in Sound Quality. The current Focus steers better than the ITR. Much better. The RS will have much larger brakes and a turbocharger so it'll have much more torque and it also has a limited-slip differential to put the torque to the road in the twisties. It also has a stiffened body so it would probably outrun the ITR. At least it should.

If the post was to Chui and you only wanted a response from him why the heck did you use the Celica discussion forum and not a Private message or email?
