Hey guys,
Just a few questions about them. i have never seen one (except on the internet). how hard are they to install? would i need someone to do it for me?
Living in NY (lol) the very few days it rains :liar: , i've heard of splash guards or somethign would they help enuff? or should i just stay away from the whole thing?
Also which do you guys feel is the best for this area, or doesn't it make a big difference.
Thx

a CAI is the best thing u could do to ur car beside F/I. it gives out pretty good gains. unless u live in Seattle or FL, you don't really need to worry about rain. just cover up the holes in the plastic lining in front of the tire and u will be fine (that's if u dont' get a water/heat shield)
from a scale of 1-10, i would give it a 2 or 3. then again it all depends if ur mechanically incline or not. I would say the hadest part is figuring out where the CAI hoses go. you can get millions of pic online to show you where the hoses go, so that's out the window.
besides that i storngly encourage you to add a CAI :D you will fall in love w/ it as soon as you feel the power and hear the "move out the way hear i come" noise it give out
BTW.....my scale
#1 = taking butterfly valve from air box
#10= mounting a turbo kit to ur car

injen. and i was going to say the same thing as mike. but to make life easier, take off the front bumper. i can do it in about 5 mins flat because i've taken it off so many times. and instead of wasting $40 or whatever on the Injen heat shield that you will never see, just get a for sale sign, spray paint it black, and fasten it to the fender well where the holes are to cover the holes and block the filter from any water that would enter from the rear. i'd go out and take a pic, but its too damn cold out and im not in the mood to go outside now :D

haahaaa no problem. i've had it like that for over a year and a half and never had to touch it or had a problem with it. and as long as you paint the bolts black too, its barely noticeable ;)

there is no way snow can get sucked in. rain should be more likly to get sucked in, but unless u lived in FL you won't have a problem
i've driven in snow plenty of time and i'm 100x more scared of my celi sliding off the road that i'm of my CAI. i don't even think about my CAI unless if i see like a foot or 2 of water (which never happends in NY)

i agree. if anything, a CAI is better in the snow and cold weather. it just sucks in that freezing freezing cold air. i love it! but i am more afraid of sliding off the road in snow than anything too.
