I just thought i would let everyone know about my experience with a fellow board member, I know it does not really belong in the general discussion but im sure people would like to know about this guy

His screen name is GTS2S2K and i had negotiated a deal with him abotu 6 weeks ago, he was sending me 160 dollars for an AEM CAI and autometer A/F gauge, So i sent it out to him and we talked on MSN he told me he had received it about 2 weeks ago and i have not recieved any paymet for the goods, he will not respond to my emails or PM's on the board.

I would like to know what everyone does in these situations ??? where should i start ??does anyone know this guy or live close to him

he lives in silver springs virgininia any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks

how come you didn't wait for the money to arrive before sending it?

Contact authorities if you can.

Let this be a lesson though, never send out your merchandise before you have the money in you pocket. That's how all the guys on eBay operate as well. I always got my stuff sent to me AFTER my money order was in the hands of the seller.

I use paypal just for this reason. It is very hard to get ripped off if you use paypal, and ALWAYS send the item after you receive payment.

that does not make any sense
either way you do it one guy risks the chance of being screwed if you get paid first the guy who paid you can just as easily get screwed cuz you could not send the stuff

there is no good way of doing it

can anyone trace this guys IP number ?? i think he changed his name

Either way someone always runs a risk, either the buyer or the seller. There is a better system...

In any system that uses feedback, the person with the lower feedback sends first. This means you'd have to do a lot of honest deals before you could screw someone. Some of the game "trading" site I visit work this way.

Sending items COD is one way around it.

With Paypal, if you were to send me money, and I didn't send the item, then you could bust me SO EASILY!! The money would route directly into my bank account. Then the cops would have all my info. I would be arrested for fraud. That is why paypal is so cool. Make sense now??
