BRAK, one of the reason's no one will donate their car for this project is probably because they can seriously damage your engine when they tinker with the settings to try and get good dyno numbers. Seriously, this isn't the kind of thing that you should do with someone's volunteer car. It's not like getting some one to donate their car for the fitting of an intake or exhaust. When Weapon-R play's with things like ignition timing and the rev limit with their magic crystals, they could cause permanent damage to the engine. It honestly makes their company look very amatureish IMHO. I'll bet that Apex-i didn't make some one volunteer their car to bring the Power FC to market. They probably bought their own Celica to do their product development on. That is what a professional company does when they want to make parts for a car.

I normally agree with you but not this time. If Weapon R is being unprofessional then that would apply to 95% or more of the companies we have seen discussed on this forum. I could be wrong but list the ones which own their own Celicas.

Do not trust those guys for squat. They asked for my suspension two years ago to make coilovers. I was without a car for two months and now they decided that they won't actually make the things. All that set me back $120 in handling and shipping charges. Bastards.

Russ (Celica00Russ was his screen name I think) was the victim for the dragon intake posts. To my knowledge he yanked out the dragon intake for I think an Injen.

I think AEM has a computer module for the Celica, which is also programmable.

Yeah.... I did the dyno for their intake, and, well, I did it so I could get a free short intake tube for winter, just in pure fear of hydrolock.

Anyways, I'd probably use it if I wasn't so lazy to swap em but I'd run it w/my injen filter...

FYI... I already had the injen on my car before the dyno.

and no, i'm not gonna volunteer my car to have an ecu tested.... cuz... umm... i'm not going through the trouble of writing up some paperwork to cover my car in the event of engine problems due to tinkering of settings

HAHAH, damn itt doesn't make me feel any good to hear any of this. If you guys hadn't read it I would be the sucker volunterring my car for them.

But I was gonna get some things cleared up with them first about what happens if anything breaks and what not.

What do you guys think, should I still do it??

Yes you MOF'r Do it......I would.....They are going to make progresive changes to see what works and it wont damage your engine..So ask if they will give you a free ECU.

You'll have the fastest GTS for a limited time,..C's I'm buying it!

Loves2Rev, I would definately clear up what their responsablities are if they do any damage to your engine. I would insist that they pay 100% of the cost to return any harm they might do back to its original condition. If they refuse to do that, I would just turn around and walk away. I mean, that's a pretty reasonable request, dont you think? If they break it, they have to fix it.

i dunno how much damage they can do with timing (they're going to be using pretty generic maps they've used on other similar cars), but an 8500rpm rev limit will not hurt your car. a guy with the Apex'i Power FC had it at 8500rpm without any problems. 8600 i dunno, that's the only 'real' thing they'd be testing. but 100rpm...i doubt like i said in the other thread, it'd blow something up.
