How do you tell the difference between a real TRD wing and a TRD wing look-a-like, like an elegant (or whatever that replica brand is). I just took off my black TRD wing from my new car and I want to know if it is the real deal or a replica.

Also, this black TRD/TRD look a like wing is for sale, and is probably 90% out of 100% in terms of condition, any takers.

Thanks, TIM

if u took it off u should be able to tell because i'm sure somewhere on there there is a word Toyota stamped with the part number.

hmm, down to the basement I go to check, thanks for the advice...it also has what looks to be a third brake light...but it does not appear to be functional.

no markings that I see, and the end caps that cover the bolts on the side are double sided taped (and kind of falling off)...does that mean anything?

Thanks, TIM

look on the brake light of the wing... it should have "koito" on it...

hmm, no markings on the brake light that I can see, but it might be tinted, because it is the same color as my blacked out tails, that were tinted. I think this is a replica thou, thanks for the info..

check the back of the end caps. if its from toyota, you'll know for sure when u see it.

http://members.aol.com/i2eactor/brettscar.jpg Just tell them its the real deal. Mine was a knock off. It had a brake light, which was never wired for some reason. Mine was complete ass though. I got it a long time ago and the quality was PISS POOR. I know there are some better ones these days though.

Check the third brake light, it should have "toyota" stamped on it (embossed with a part number). The end caps should have a hole with a bolt to adjust the wing. some replica's have that too though. the third brake light should not be tinted unless he did it himself.

oh yeah, if it came with the car stock, then it should have the third brake light cover color matched to the car. But not having it doesn't necessarily mean that its not real, as whoever owned it before you couldve bought the wing w/o the brake light cover.
