ok, a basic quetion about these. I know what the purpose of buying them is (better handeling, less body roll etc.) but I don't know exactly what they do. could someone explain what their purpose is?

well when you make turns the car will lean off to one side, the sways keep it from leaning and stays flatter during the turn. i run hothckis streets along with tein ss's and the thing feels like an indy car:)

they basically connect one wheel to the other. when you turn and weight shifts to one side, the swaybar acts like a torsion spring...the weight shift introduces a torque to the bar and the bar resists the twist.

thanks guys. do you think TEIN basic coilovers with TRD sways would be a good setup?

My current set-up is B&G lowering springs, Tokico shocks/struts, and Hotchkis competition sway bars. The only thing that made me decide not to get coilovers is that it's too bumpy for daily driving and I would never end up adjusting it so there's no need for me to spend the additional money for it.

The TRD sways is weaker than the Hotchkis from what people have said here on the boards.

adjustable-height coilover vs. simpler lowering spring has nothing to do with ride quality...it's all about spring rate and the damping qualities of the strut/shock.
