Hi, You all

My car is going on 2 years and when I went to the dealership for oil change, they put an X on fuel injector cleaning on their recommended list.

Should I go for it or is it a waste of money?

i wonder as well... for that price i can almost buy new injectors... and if all they do is add a $3 bottle of fuel injector cleaner i would be pissed...

Can't you just buy fuel injector cleaner? $129 seems like a lot of cash just to do that. Just my opinion.

Actually you cant buy new injectors for that. I went to Toyota bc my injectors knock real bad and they want 160 each for new injectors. Screw that!!

they said they pressurize the injectors to get them clean.
They told me it's different from the bottles u pour in which they said does nothing.

IMO if the car is running fine, whats the use? i put over 100k on my last 2 fuel injected vehicles, no injector problems, just use good gas and change the fuel filter when u should

The benefits you get is probably worth that much. But if you can get it cleaned for $60 else where, why pay that much?

Does anyone know how to change the fuel filter?
how often should it be changed?

$129? Tell them to stick it up their ass. My mechanic suggest i used a high quality FUEL SYSTEM CLEANER, not fuel injector cleaner every 10k miles. Bascially something like the $7-$10 bottle will work fine, not the $2 crap. Something like STP fuel system, or Chevron fuel system cleaner will do just fine.

haha, my dealer told me the same thign when i had a clogged #6 injector...asked him the price of a new injector--$38 a piece.. so while it was cheaper to get the cleaning..one injector woulda solved my problem..

my solution?

gave it the good old college try and ran some STP fuel system cleaner along with fuel injector cleaner in one shot.

no more problems with #6 on the new plugs and my highest trap yet. :)

I was told by the dealership that about every 50k you should change your Fuel Filter. But then I have seen cars go a lot longer with no prob. After changing mine on my Tundra it isn't hard but a little time consuming (especially if you break off the clamp bolt...)

Buy fuel injection cleaner and use it every other tank like they suggest, i have been doing that with mine.
