2003 Eclipse - looks and perf. upgraded

2003 Eclipse UNVIELED!
We finally get a glance of what the 2003 Eclipse looks like. As we already knew, the 2003 model receives a new front fascia, while the original tail lights are swapped for the clear "Euro-sport" inspired look with different color lights inside the composite housing. As we knew, a new GTS model is replacing the Premium Package GT but now also receives a brand new 210hp MVIC V6 engine. The 03 Spyder GT is also equipped with the same engine and more aggressive final drive ratio of the GTS (4.01:1 for A/T, 4.11:1 for M/T). The Eclipse GT and GTS both get new 17-inch wheels, while the GS also receives new 5-spoke 16-inch wheels.

The rims on the hard top are nasty. Looks like something from an 80's pontiac. Not really digging the new front either.

the whole car looks like sh1t, they should have kept the late 1990's look and just improved upon it. i especially dislike those carves on the side. how ghey is that

hmm....i like where they were going with the front, but they chopped it off too soon..

those side skirts need to GO..this car shouldn't be stealing styling cues off a grand am for christ sakes..


and the altezza's further show to me that Mitsubishi obviously has no idea in hell of what this 3G Eclipse should be or its target group

classic mismanagement..it disgusts me to see such an import icon evolve this way..

i honestly dont think we'll see a 5G if they keep this crap up.

hmm... Am I the onlyone that thinks that Pontiac should of made this car? Does it not look like a Grand Prix? LOL! The body shape, rear, and side rakes....

Dunno, I fell in love with the previous gen body style, still to this day love it. Not too fond of Mitsu quality (speak from all to much 1st hand experience). My 2 Cents!

B4 we bought the GTS, my wife and I test drove among others, an Eclipse GT. It was a forgetable automobile that we never missed, not once.

they just need to go back to the pre 2000 body style and work on it from there.. just get rid of this whole style in general.. hell Id buy a brand new one if they still had my body style :)
