I recently ( 2 months ago) got a viper alarm and the salesman told me that viper had a $2500 guarentee that your stuff wouldn't get stolen. which with the anti-codejacker kinda sold me on the system ( and the price was ok). Well sure enough after i got it in a few weeks later both my amps got jacked. To this day i still have no idea how.. the alarm was still armed when I came out the next day. No windows broken or anything. But when i called Viper to get a claim faxed to me, they said it was just if the car got stolen. Isn't that some crap or what! Who would steal a car worth 2500 anyhow??? Well i went back to the dealer and told them what Viper told me and they said that was what they meant ( not said).. is there anything i can or should do?

nope. Did you have the amps in the car when it was installed? Reason that I ask is that Im an installer and ive known plenty of shady people who install as well. It takes literally 10 seconds to program an extra remote control to the DEI brain. An installer could take an extra remote that he had laying around, code it to your car, come to your house since Im sure he had your address from a work order and open your car without even making a sound. Pretty crappy huh? What I would do if you I were you is go to a shop, not the one that did your install and ask the installers there if they have a tool made by DEI called a Bitwriter. If your alarm has the port for a bitwriter to plug into they can plug into your brain, and it will show how many remotes have been setup for your car. It should ONLY show 2! If it shows 3 or more you know someone took advantage of you.. Hope this helps.

The theft protection is total BS. It covers your deductible up to $2500 if your car is stolen.
