During spring break i plan on painting my center console navy blue, along with the trim around the gage cluster to match my seats. (gonna install gages in the flip up face too :) ). But here what i wanna know. for those who have done, did you sand the crap first? what kinda paint did you use(spray?), what company is good? did you use clearcoat? again what company? what grade for both? and about how many cans did it take? and how many layers or coatings of paint/clearcoat?.................Anything would help, i wanna get this right on the first try. thanks guys.

if u prefer to do it yourself, the rustoleum is easiest to use that i've found. but use a clear coat after it. best if u use a 220 grit sandpaper and go over it first and primer it. if it were your engine plastics, i'd say just start painting. and most importantly, DO NOT RUSH. I'm very impatient, and I have had to resand things many times. Doing several light coats will turn out MUCH better.

thanks man. the point of me doing it is to not pay a shop to do it. i can figure most things out pnce they are explained.....................And i have a friend who is a sick spray painter (steady hand) who is gonna do the actual painting.........i just want to know whats the best way to do it. Thanks again guys.
