I just got my car back from the body shop. They fixed my rear quarter panel and driver side door and repainted it. My car is new and I took very good care of the paint. Now the door and panel is full of swirl marks all over the areas they worked on. It is really bad when the sun hits it. Is this normal for them to leave the paint like this. Also how can I take them out, won't using any product before I let the paint cure, damage the paint?

i also have a question for anyone that might see this.
i had my driver side door repainted cause someone hit it a few months ago. now when i look at the drivers side, it does not "look" like the stock paint job. in other words, its dull, there's no shine or luster like the passeger side shows. does this mean i need to wax/buffer? its odd, im thinkin about having him repaint it. its an eyesore

sounds like they did a crappy job. You can remove the swirls with a good wax, I use zaino and it works. I took my car in for service and when I got it back the *******s washed it and it was covered in swirl marks.

its just some buff marks left, nothing to worry about really.... it will go away in time or if you want just wax the hell out of it.
the paint on newer cars all over doesn't seam as good.

Nothing will be as good as factory paint. and the swirl marks will go away in time. I had them too.

usually but there are several shops in my area that had my jaw dropped after having fixed cars for friends that required paint matching.

The reason for this (from an old body shop guy) is that manufactures to cut down on cost do 3 layers of color and 7 layers of clear coat, where as back in the day they did 7 layers of paint and 3 layers of clear coat. well the numbers i just gave were off the top of my head but you get the idea...
