I can't help but laugh at this. :chuckles:
Just take the car back and demand they fix whatever is wrong.

You start out saying you think your service dept. is treating you badly because they think you're a 17-year-old punk.
Then you write your post decribing your problem JUST LIKE a 17-year-old punk.
Therefore, maybe your service dept. has a point.
Do you know what they "did" to shift your gears to the right? Did they fix your car under warranty after a misshift? Did they do the same for your friend?
There may be a few people here who might have some good advice for you if you didn't act like a teenage pud.
Until then, all I can offer is:
Wel mah poit af view iz dat if da ho shiftin thang iz pissn ya awf, fuggin feggedabadit an drop dat peez lik a used ho beeeach.
Werd.

It sounds like they put in the "newer" tranny in it, the one with the wider shift gates, which yes, was made that way to cut down on misshifts. So it's not like they did anything wrong. It might not feel as nice, but it sounds like ya got a new tranny out of it.
But....
People will take you more seriously if you talk and type normal.

I'm sorry, but since when is "mah" shorter than "my"?
Anyway, if you've blown your engine once, I've heard that Toyota will only fix it under warranty once. Perhaps there has been a problem with the new tranny, which you should talk to the service reps about. But, like someone else pointed out, if you're going in there acting like a 17 year-old punk, they'll treat you like one.

He's from the south; that explains everything.

aside from the fact that the post is a little childish,
it does in fact sound like you got an 02 tranny out of it, in which case the gates are wider.
i have driven both and neither one should affect your shifting, just get used to it.

Whats really funny (actually sad) is that you cant see why people make a big deal out of it.

Hey man, I didn't mean to flame or anything but seriosly... just type the words the way they are actually spelled, that way you might avoid problems like this in the future.
Aside from that, if you did in fact get an '02 transmission, it might just take some getting used to. Maybe pickup a short shifter or the bushings WAR found to make it more direct.

I disagree, If he wants to be taken seriously IN ANYTHING he isn't going to get it by talking/typing like that. And obviously not being taken serious is what caused his dissatisfaction w/ the toyota dealer, and his subsequent post here. Therefore, we are just giving him a solution to his problem.

its even funnier that silverbullet is ragging on you cuz hes usually the mature one,:chuckles: , back on topic, it does sound like you got the 02 tranny, it takes some getting used too.

People expect to come to sites like this to get help, not flamed. If you can't say something to help out their problem then shut the **** up. And all you so called mature guys are trying to tell someone else to act like an adult, but you are the ones that sound like a bunch of ****ing school girls.

After trying to decipher the request for help, it appears that you now have the new wider shift gates. Nothing is wrong with this - it was designed that way. It helps prevent people from shifting into the wrong gear. A smoked tranny from a miss-shift only ends up increasing the price of cars to cover these types of things. I prefer the wider gates. The tranny shifts like butter, an dwill go into gear as fast as I can shift. Best thing is I know I'm going in the right gear.
You'll get better help if people could understand what you are trying to say with your drunken spelling.

Hello welcome to life, not many people are going to help someone who sounds like a backstreet boy with a mental impairment.

Oh man.... :chuckles:
Guys, take it easy....
I guess bad grammar just buggs me.
If you ever expect to be taken seriously in this world, you must be able to express yourself well. This is what happens when you don't. And while it is true that I am kindof being a sh|thead by messing with him, everyone has been messed with and everyone messes with others.
Like I said, take it easy.

Well... the original topic was question about gear, why do people have to reply something that is not related to this topic? If you don't understand what he said, fine, just don't answer it(since you don't understand his question). If you want to help him out but you couldn't understand what he wrote, just tell him something like "I don't understand what you wrote, can you rephrase it in normal English?" Why flaming others? Also, I thought that the "General Discussion" forum should be flame-free and you can only flame in OT-EAYOR?

The reason they are flaming is because he said that Toyota didn't treat him fairly because he seemed to be a 17 year old punk. I think, that if Toyota did this, they were correct in their assessment and treatment of him. If you go to a respected dealership, with your pants to your knees, talking like you have never been to school, then frankly, you don't deserve to be treated like a mature adult. That's the point people were trying to make.
