Tach/Shift Light setting?

I was wondering, what do you all set your shift light at? I have mine set at 8050RPM, but there is still a delay in time from when I see the light, to when I shift.

Is there a trick to this, or should I just keep adjusting until I get it right ?

i have mine set at 6800 for now, will go up to 7000 when i get better at the 1-2 shift

You can set it lower, banking on the additional revs that occur during your RT.

I have mine at 8200 rpm, I shift a fraction of a second later (not the instant I see the light) to nail it before the cutoff.
