can i use one AMP to power both my SUB and Components? is that possible? components + (ONE) 15'' sub. i know it depends on the RMS and stuff like that....i just wanna know if i am able to hook up all my speakers into one amp.
this is the amp i want:
Full frequency response with low distortion and exceptional signal to noise performance
Variable low-pass electronic crossover with a 12dB or 24dB per octave slope
Variable bass boost circuit
Adjustable Input Level Control
Remote turn-on with "soft start" muting
1-Ohm load capability to drive a variety of speaker systems (stereo mode)
Gold-plated input/output connectors
Aluminum heat sink for efficient heat dissipation
Low profile, compact size for space limited installations
Wired remote Sub Level Control included
Full range or low pass output mode
24dB Subsonic filter
1 Ohm Stereo Stable
2 Ohm Mono Stable
Frequency Response 20Hz 20 kHz
S/N Ratio >95dB
THD: .02% all channels driven
250mv - 2.5 V Low level Input Voltage
500mV - 5V High Level Input Voltage
250W x 2 @ 4 Ohm Stereo
450W x 2 @ 2 Ohm Stereo
750W x 2 @ 1 Ohm Stereo
2000W x 1 @ 2 Ohm Mono
Dimensions (H x W x L): 2 " x 8

I don't know if your amp will allow it, but yes you can. IT's called mixed - mono where you wire your 2 speakers the regular way and take the + of one side and the - of the other to wire it into the sub. you will need a coil for your sub so that it doesn't play highs. I don't recommend it as you won;t be able to control the volume of the speakers independly.
my 2 cents

I dont recomend doing this!!. 1-) SUBS need to be wired @8ohms so the amp sees 4ohms.
2-) AMP needs to be set to FULLPASS -meaning u will need to get COILS for the subs to block the HIGHS. COILS SUCK A LOT OF POWER FROM THE AMP.(you might have to get a new ALT and a new yellow top battery)
3-)amp will be running really hot. which will cause damage. etc, etc, etc,
just make everything simple get a small amp to power your components ( try to get one that will match the RMS of your COMPS)

Yes you can, all you have to do is wire the sub to the + of the right channel and the - of the left channel (bridged)... and hook the speakers up the way you normally would. All that is required on this is crossovers. The most basic setup would be a capacitor in series with each of the component sets and an inductor in series with the sub. But here's a link with many options:

what you have is a 2 channel amp
that means there will be 4 speaker connectors
+- for one channel, +- for another
to run a pair of speakers, + goes to +, - goes to - (since each speaker will have 2 wires, all 4 wire connectors will be taken, thus NONE left for sub)
OR
you can bridge the channels into a mono (stereo is 2, left and right, mono is 1) however, by doing this, +- and +- will be COMBINED
thus, on a 2 channel amp, you can only run 1 sub, or a pair of speakers
that particular amp is designed for a high output sub woofer, preferably at 4 ohms
as for subs being wired to 8 ohms so the amp sees 4 ohms, i believe this is incorrect
if the subs are wired at 8 ohms, the amp will see 8 ohms; since there is more resistance, there will be less power taken from the amp (take an electronics course, i forget the formula)
for the amp to see 4 ohms on a sub, you must have either a single voice coil at 4 ohms, OR a dual voice coil with each at 2 ohms. Run this is series, and you get 4 ohms (2+2 = 4). if you run in parallel, the amp will see 1 ohm (1/2 + 1/2 = 1ohm), once again, basic science
however, this amp cant handle 1 ohm mono (it says 2 ohm mono stable), THUS get a sub that is either 2 ohms SVC, or a DVC at 4 ohms and run em in parallel (1/4+1/4 = 2/4 = 2 ohms (inverse of 2/4))

hopefully this will help ==>TRI-MODE CONFIG (http://www.eatel.net/~amptech/elecdisc/trimodpd.htm)
TRI-MODE is useless IMO.

Good call. As it is possible to do what you want, it's not recommended. As was stated already, you loose control over your subs and components.
As for the Type R's, I'd use what ever is on sale. :) Those subs are dual 4-ohm subs. With those, you can run 1-ohm mono or 4-ohm mono. Or you can bridge them. RMS on each is 500W, 1500W MAX. That Visonik would work for that.

hmm, if its a DVC4, its either 8 ohms or 2 ohms
4+4=8ohms
1/4+1/4=1/2 = 2ohms
now if you bought a pair of em, then you can run it at 1 ohm i you wire them all parallel
OR
at 4 ohms if you run the dvc in parallel then series
correct me if im wrong

ok...hopefully the type R's is a good SUB...is it guys? i dont really want a HARDCORE bass bumping in my car. just something that i can feel bass while inside and standing outside by my car. Yea or no?
ok...if i DO go with this SUB, how do i wire it?
Like THis?

i like the top one!
and the type r's are great! 15s will be super loud regardless, but the type r also has great sound quality

number 1, why are getting a 15? Such a bad choice of sub size. You can run both using a 4 channel as stated.

There are amps that have a subwoofer channel and four regular channels with an internal electronic crossover. That would simplify the wiring and make less stuff to find mounting places for and probably sound pretty good. I took a quick look on Crutchfield.com and saw couple from Alpine and Kicker
