CEL Help

I have a injen cold air intake and it works just fine but my engine light comes on and when i took it to the dealer that said something with the gas cap. So does anyone know what would make the engine light come on...i mean i have 2 bald tires in the front and a worn clutch (stupid people are never touching my car again) would either of those make the light come on or should i go back to the dealer?

what did the code at the toyota dealership said....have u tried r

reseting the ecu yet....and check all your connections and

hoses!!!!

all the conections are good but resetting the computer i will try today if i can't get anywhere else with it i guess i have to bring it back one more time.

if your getting an CEL because of the fuel door it's no big deal
just disconnect your battery for 2~4min and then it should be fine
it happened to me once and no big deal

that is what the first time was but i just got it again...im going to disconnect the battery and see what happens.

The same with me.
A day after installing the AEM CAI I got the CEL. I disconnected the battery and tightened the clamps and it dissapeared for about 2 days then came back on. I left it like that then one day the CEL turned off. Then came back on.
So now the CEL turns off and on any time usually lasts a day or so.
I don't know what it depends on but I think i have noticed it turns on when cold temperature and when I drive it hard. (Not sure about that just an idea)
-I will find the solution to keeping it off when i get some time.
I think most likely is the clamps on the hoses not tight enough or the sensor going in the pipe not connected well, when it bounces around maybe it opens up a little which makes the light come on.

ok what model is this car gt or gt-s?

have you guys installed any stuff before or worked on a car?

i have installed my intake for about 6months and no celica on ever?

also one more make you the ecu tubes connects to the intercooler..tha might be the problem...hope that helps!!!!

wus up everyone, yeah i'm having the same problem too, I have had my intake in for like 5 months now and suddenly out of the blue, it came on, well after like a couple of days, it would turn off but recently like today it turn back on for no apparent reason, I don't know what it can be, I have a 3rd gen intake, i checked all the hose and stuff and its look to be okay. I don't know what it can be but there isn't any perforance lost cause I went out and g-tech my car and i'm still getting the same times I were getting when it wasn't on.

well even though i have an intake i took it back to the dealer when it first came on and they said something about the gas cap...it came on again last week and i was told to reset the ecu and let the car run for like 5 mins or so...and i did that and no light...if it comes back on i will let you know but until then that was my fix..thanks for the help
