They last much longer than normal halogens. You're thinking of HID look alike bulbs, normal halogen bulbs that are painted blue to try to look like HIDs (but fail miserably :chuckles:), like PIAA, Nokya, Hiper, MTEC, etc. Your HIDs will last for years to come, so don't worry.

HID'slast WAAAY longer than regular halogen bulbs.....its crappy aftermarket "xenon" or "superwhite" bulbs that are junk and dont last. HID's arent just bulbs man

oh.. lol i see... i ask some store clerk in a shop and those people said HID burn out in six months... their explaination is HID use more power to get those brightness so they burn out faster... ?! but yeah i get what you guys are saying too about the imitation bulbs thanx~

HIDs use more power to ignite, but after that, they're only running at around 35W, which is like 35% less power than the normal 55W halogens. The imitation bulbs also run at 55W, but their construction is very low quality, so they don't last very long.

For reference, 4100k (white) is the brightest HID you can get. 5000k (pale blue) is about the limit when it comes to brightness vs color. Anything beyond that will start to noticeably lose brightness in exchange for a deeper color (blue or purple).
