Hi, I am just wondering how long does trannyslasts till you need to replace them? I mean i have an auto tranny now but plan to replace it with a 5-spd when the time comes. Also is there an issues I need to know about? thx in advance =)

AzN-n00bGT, properly maintained automatic transmititions outlast cars. All you have to do is flush out and replace the fluid whenever you put 100,000 miles on it and it will last forever.
The only thing that will kill the transmition is an overload of heat from towing a lot of weight on a trailer behind your car(probably not doing that in a Celica, though) or power braking your car a lot when racing. If you buy a transmition oil cooler it would probably be ok under thoes conditions as well.

better yet, follow toyota's advice, do a tranny flush every 30k miles. :D
