toyota is a scion dealer but scion is not dealer of toyota.

So every toyota dealer will have scions on the lot.

Scions dealers will not have toyota on the lot.

well this just what i heard.

There's no such thing as a "Scion dealership", Scion will not have standalone dealerships, they will be part of the showroom of a Toyota dealership. Most, but not all of Toyota dealers will also have a Scion section, they will however have separate salespeople and finance (even though they probably also go thru TMCC).

exactly. the crappy part is that if you sells toyotas at the dealership, you can sell scions also. but if you were hired to sell scions, you cannot sell toyotas..

Yeah, because it doesn't take much of a salesperson to sell a brand that only offers 2 models (soon 3). Toyota in the other hand...

Look a company is only allowed to import certain number of vehicles into U.S., when they reach their maximum they usually start another brand to go around that law. Thus the Lexus, Scion, Infiniti, Acura. Toyota just import so much vehicle they had to start a 3rd company to import more vehicles, confirmed because Toyota is ranked 3 (I believe) in sales in U.S.

I just called Toyota and now they say.

"Hellow, good afternoon from toyota and scion of glen burnie."

Even the parts department guys had to say it. They like want people to know that Scions are coming.

Unfortunately, Scion salespeople are as misinformed and ignorant as Toyota salespeople. I talked to one the last time I went to the dealer and they had an Xa and Xb as demos, and he did not know that they are Japanese cars, he thought they were built here.
