Ok, how many of you own a b&m short shifter for the celica and had the shaft come lose at the pivot-ball area? I just got mine today and already it turns about 1/8 of an inch...that is absolutely retarded..THE FIRST DAMN DAY. ok, now that i have vented does anyone else have this problem? if so what have you done to fix it? i might just have a friend of mine weld that sonofa nice and good, but if b&m will replace it for free, i guess that is as good too, except hell, it will probably happen again. Anyone wanna help me with this?
Thanks,

J

Try to weld it. It will definitely secure it. However, you can always call B&M and have them replace it for free. The first 2 that B&M sent to me had the same problem. 3rd one was gator.

I know your frustration man.. the same **** happened to me 2 days after I installed it. I got mine from Titan Motorsports (bottle). I called them up and they are going to send me a new one and temporarily charge my card. When I send them back the old one, they will credit my card. Doing it that way, I won't need to reinstall the stock shifter. I spoke to Eric at Titan Motorsports and he asked me to look at the clip right above the "pivot-ball" area. Well, mine doesn't have a clip there.. at least I couldn't see one. He says the one he is sending me has a C-clip or something like that above the big blue pivot-ball. So maybe this was B&M's fix, I dunno.. I guess I will find out. I'll be calling B&M and raising hell tho if my next one breaks on me. I'll **** bricks all over the place. But yeah, I'd contact the vendor you got it from and see if they'll send you a replacement. If they give you crap, call B&M. I know that they stand by their products.. at least that is what I've been told. Do a search and check out the thread that I posted about my shifter. Hope that helps.. good luck
