And I decided to put in some bigger jets for the fuel, and what a diference!! Now my gauge reads right on the rich line, which is about were it is in vvtl. I noticed much more power to.
Anyone here have a good optimized jet settings for nitrous?

what size jets were you using before and what are you using now?

I believe it is 37 nitrous and 22 fuel.. thats for a NOS kit, NX may be different.. but I think thats right. Id have to look at my notes at home to see for sure..

NX suggests 35/20 jets for a 50 shot. I'm trying to figure out why they are different. Jets are jets, right? Is it just that they measure "50 shot" differently?

no they are different cuz the foggers are different.. they shoot a different amount.

I went to 35/26 instead. The standard jets run way lean. I noticed more power with the larger jets too, which makes sense because the power comes from the added fuel, not the O2.

i thought you actually wanted to run the car a tad lean to make more power?? me personally id rather stick a tad rich to be safe but I thought more power was from the opposite.

no, the power comes from the fuel, oxygen is needed to burn fuel. Same concept as fire, not oxygen, no fire. Either way, the fuel jets added much more "felt" power, I would say 50% more. The original jets NX says to use showed up in the lean section of the a/f gauge, that just didnt seem right to me.

50% more power IS alot more power for just adding a little fuel.. but hey i guess its feasable.. when u hitting the track?

I forgot to mention that I am letting my bottle get to about 1200 PSI before I squeeze, that is part of it also. As compaired to 900 PSI, but according to all the documentation I have read, its the fuel that gave me the most power.
As for the track, I'll be running in March, and I hope to hook up with some of my DCM friends in N VA too.

oh damn, the pressure is your best friend.. with it only being at 900psi you were only essentially seeing like 30hp out of the 50shot.. (estimate ofcourse).. but seriously you will notice that when you keep the bottle pressure up your car is ALOT stronger.. the more runs you make adn the more pressure you lose the less powerful the car becomes because the shot is actually dropping..
If you guys read my post in the performance section...
I am running WAAAAAAAAAAY to lean...lean enough to blow out all for plugs in 1 pass. :(
I will be putting in the higher jet for fuel...what a way to learn a lesson...

If you run it lean you will get a lot more heat in the cylinder bores which will sap power out of the burn anyway. Keeping the pressure up will deliver the nitrous faster giving it less time to cool, also at higher pressures its also colder, so this helps a lot too.
I noticed the same thing with my nitrous system, I went with the recommended jets and the car was not at all impressive, then I spent a bit of time matching jets and it would be ok at part load and crap at WOT, then I fitted a fuel pressure regulator to keep the fuel at 10psi and rematched the jets, BIG difference.
BTW - I used Highpower nitrous system which is not all that good so any of you UK guys should really keep clear of it, try the Nitrous Express stuff instead, much better.
