It seems like I have a lot of clutch freeplay. Is there anyway to adjust it?

The freeplay in the pedal is adjustable. There is a rod attached to the back of the clutch pedal, it has a jam nut on it. Loosen the nut and turn the piston on the back of the pedal. Lengthen it to reduce free play, shorten it to increase free play.

DO NOT PRELOAD the system.

You can also change the pedal stop if you need to make the rod even longer.

has anybody done this?
i have no free play in my clutch and it grabs on the ground so i want to lengthen it but how do i do this?
i figured out how to adjust the pedal from longer to shorter. does that wear out the throwout bearing faster if the clutch pedal is shorter?
also what do you mean by do not preload the system? what would that do?

I have dont this. Theres a rod the connects to the clutch pedal with a nut attached to it. Take a 12mm wrench and losen the nut and then spin the rod. Turn it couterclockwise to make it closer to the ground and turn it clockwise to birng it up. Its pretty easy. Hope that helps.

so when im under there i loosen the little bolt with a 12 and i adjust the bigger one with a 14. i want to make my clutch not grab on the ground so i turn it to the tight correct?
i want to extend it. how many times do i turn it?
do i press the clear button or anything when im done?
can i make the pedal shorter without effecting the clutch and throwout bearing?

you dont need a 14mm you can spin ith with your hand if you just press slighty on the clutch pedal. What adjustiing this rod really does it just takes the free play out. Meaning it moves the heigth of the pedal either towards the ground or away. So when you press on the clutch you dont have to press much before you already disengaing it . But if you set it to low to the ground your cruise control wont work. Wehn you turn it you are just turning it until you get the heigth you want. Also it wont effect the clutch.

will changing the clutch height affect the clutch or anything?
i lowered the pedal almost all the way down beause it feels better to me.

I really dont know but i dont see how it could. I riased my back up because i wasnt able to use cruise control with it low but it did feel better that way. I just need cruise control when im on the autobahn i like to lock in at 125mph.

ok the thing you can spin by hand is the pedal height.
that i know how to do but i still have tried turning the other(14) counter clockwise and i did that for 10 minutes.
tried that out and it didn't change anything.
am i doing something wrong or what?
ahhh damn

damn..I tried doing this last night, and I turned the piston way too much, and the piston and rod came apart. I was able to put it back together, but I'm having trouble adjusting it back to how it was, because I now I have way too much freeplay. So just as a warning, don't loosen it too much, adjust in moderation and tighten the nut back and see if further adjusment is needed, although I'm sure most people won't be as stupid as me and loosen it that much, but then again, you never know.
