Wow that Solara convertible is pretty.
I wonder how it performs.

X-Runner is of course another hulking vehicle I don't need on my road. Though I love the color and the hoodscoop. I love hoodscoops.

Crown looks nice. They better price it cheap.

The hood scoop is for the supercharger

Solara should perform ok, not great, most likely Toyota has not changed the production method of the previous convertible (chop roof, add bracing).

X Runner...IMO, lame attempt to put out a Lightning-looking truck out there, nice, but we don't need another truck in the lineup.

Crown...again, next Avalon, headlights are similar, and it's something that Toyota needs for it's "flagship" car. Price...I say 32K and up.

From http://www.toyota.com/about/news/product/2004/02/04-1-solaraconv.html
...Rather than implementing the conventional method of cutting the top off of a coupe and adding the convertible top, the vehicle has been designed as a convertible from its conception, a process that ensures no compromises with design, performance or quality.

"For the first time ever the Solara Convertible has a wholly dedicated convertible body," said Don Esmond, Toyota Division senior vice president and general manager. "It is a body, styled as fore-thought, not an after-thought."
...
I don't understand why Toyota didn't do it correctly on the old Solara convertible. At least they're making the new one correctly.

"That's not only significantly better than any truck on the market, it repeatedly performed better than many sports cars, including the new Nissan 350-Z."

- from this, http://www.toyota.com/about/news/product/2004/02/04-1-tacomaXrunner.html

if that's what the new tacomas are going to look like i'm gonna be happy in the summer when they release.

Does anyone remember the S-runner....this is just a re-named extended version. Same suprcharged V6, with a funkier body kit (added to the new model of course) and bigger chrome rims :)

...So that's why the coupe's roof looked so weird, kinda like the SC430.

if the new celica is coming out as a 2005 they would roll out as early as September 2004 to dealer lots. i'm sure we're gonna here some real info about this 8th gen. very soon, hopefully some spy photos or something.

Maybe the x-runner's body could be the next generation tacoma?

Just because it could be a 2005 doesn't mean its gonna roll out at the same time as the other 2005 Toyotas. It could roll out in Spring 2005, which i think would be more reasonable since we havn't heard much.

- Interior looks great, outside needs some tuner attention but it has been designed for older people I guess. They dont even try to make it sporty, so definetly they are leaving some space for real sporty coupe :)))

0.9x g, 0-60 less than 6 sec, gotta repeat that...damn! Heck, with new RX400h being faster than Cayenne Turbo (version with extra motors), Tacoma being this freakin fast, I dont see how new Celica wont rock... I doubt this time next year anyone will throw HP numbers at toyotas...

X-runner/Taco: It's a 4-runner with a bed. Exactly what I thought it would look like. I do like the performance stats of the X-Runner although I am disapointed that they don't have any sort of good looking sports car/compact car that could match it.

Solara: Never liked them. My father owns one and it's not a very comfortable car to drive. Performance is lacking.

Crown: Ehhh. Nice if you have a family.

So basically Toyota has finally started to....no wait.... here is what I am really thinking.

WHERE IS THE ****ING SUPRA?!
