Interesting concept, + 300 HP hybrid sports car.. RX400 with 270 HP will do 0-200kmh in less than 18 seconds (similar to Aston Martin
Vanquish), wonder what could 1,500 lbs lighter car could do?

Eh I dont like it so far but if they do some restyling of this the ymay have a winner. They need to move the side mirrors lower down, take out the multiple vents and just make them one huge vent, do a little something with the front bumper IMO. If they fix some of those things then I don't think it would look to bad, however the wheels look like ass! I don't care for the roof scoop either!

I like the engine idea but I despise the body styling and it will be too expensive to make a difference to me anyway. What I am interested in is the new highlander hybrid.. :D Power of a V8 with a range of 600 miles on one tank of gas..

what you are really interested in is RX400h (4wd with extra electric motors at back) that goes 0-120 mph in 17.x seconds which is around 3 seconds less than Porsche Cayenne Turbo.

like with any concept you know the final production will not look "exactly" like the car in the picture. it might borrow a few styling cues when it reaches production but that car looks like the vehicle cast of Minority Report instead of a car that would be released in 2 to 3yrs..;)

looking at it closer it looks like another audi tt robbery when you look at the front and rear overhangs and side profile. i like the all glass top but can't imagine that making production, too much safety issues.

Considering the illustration wasn't made by Toyota and is probably based on a one sentence description from a janitor at a building where a cousin of a low level Toyota employee works, I doubt that if there is to be a hybrid sports car by Toyota it'll look anything like the illustration. I'm not sure why people give any creedence to these illustrations at all, even calling it a "concept" is treating it too seriously... then again I'm not sure why people always have to say a car design looks like three other cars regardless of how completely different they are. ("Yeah, uhh that Alfa T33 looks like a Ferrari 360 Modena and uh Evo V ... and the front was ripped off of a G35C. Oh, it was made before any of them were even conceived of? Well, I still think Alfa ripped them off.")

I like the concept of using the motors at the front and driving the rear wheels with the gas engine, so launches would be faster, and cornering would be better.

I combine that with at least a V8 so that half the cylinders can be shut off during steady driving, and I think you'd get the gas mileage and the performance.

But I'm sure this will never be heard :sadpace:

you dont need a v8, modern v6 will do just fine... with loads of torque avail. right away from electric engine's, it would blast any v8 out of the sky
