View Full Version : how to hold cell phone
on your GTS ? I used to just leav the phone at a little box compartment space below radio in front of the shift with a hands-free line hanging out of it so I don't have to hold it. But in my new GTS I lose that space. I'm against driving with one hand holding phone so can you post pics about how to properly hodl the cell phone when you drive. thanks

Its called a hands free device...
well you didn't read my question correctly - I said I have a hands-free line already. It plugs into the phone and I can just insert the earpiece and talk hands-free while I drive.. My question is where/how to "hold" the phone in a good place in the GTS cabin since there's no easy space to leave the phone at.
DeserRose : thanks so much for the kit. I might just check it out at Walmart but still I just wanna know where is a good place and how you get a "phone holder" to mount the phone in the cabin - I gueess the kit does that already ?
thanks

Those holders shown in the picture are licensed by Recaro, so you can't really say it's rice since it is genuine.
BrianT : YES YES YES thanks so much this is exactly what I am looking for. Is this the kit that DesertRose mentioned ? If not please tell me where to get it.
Also I already have the special hands-free line(earpiece+microphone) that I normalliy plug into the phone - do I not need that anymore if I get this kit ?

Here's mine. I bought the belt holder, tore off the belt part and double sided tape it there:

I put my Nokia on a swivel belt clip so I just added the swivel clips that has a adhesive on the back and just placed it to the left of the window on/off switch on the drivers side below the vent area (same area as Archon_Ninja's)

amateurs. You should just learn how to shift, drive w/ one hand and talk on the phone. I do it all the time, I hold the phone in my left hand, and shift w/ my right, let go of the steering wheel and shift. Pretty stupid, I know, I'm actually just kidding around. I gotta get a phone holder, but I really shouldn't talk on the phone in the car anyway. Kinda distracting. I try not to, but that's what I do when i'm driving. My friend used to steer with his chin. Hehe, that's funny to watch.

thanks CyberPunk : that is the coolest, cna you tell me where you got that holder ?
also it looks like the phone is fixated(glued ?) on the holder - or is it easily detachable ? can't really tell from the picture . Is the holder also glued to the dashboard permanently ? I don't mind that - as long as the phone can be quick-released ?

I screwed the holder on to the dash. I tried to use the double sided tape but the phone and holder were just to heavy. The kit comes with a quick release clip that can be used as a belt clip. Only cost me like $22 from nokia.com. Here are other pictures of the holder. Again, sorry for the quality.
