of all new cars that were coming out, ie- matrix, civic si, etc etc..... the g35 looks pretty appealing. i mite give my gt to my cousin when i go off to college and my parents want to get me something more... refined (for lack of a better word) I want something sporty but could still pass as refined. i heard skyline or skyline replacement, and g35 came up. what do u all think of it? its rear wheel drive, 3.3k lbs, and like 280-ish hp?

no flames please (although if u can find a way to flame me on this topic, i'd like to see how) ;)

btw im not a spoiled child im workin hard to pay it off :p

The exterior of that car is ugly, but it does have some hp to back it up. Personally, I'd go for a 3-series, IS300, or Acura CL Type S. These cars are refined with a lot of sporty flavor to them. And with these cars you get a pretty car to look at. I really hate what they did to the back end of that car.

money cash hoes.... youll need it to get that car brand new.

Hp is 260 by the way and at first itll only come with a automatic 5 speed. I want that car also there is a picture floating around here of one with a body kit wheels and paint job it is beautiful. I would like one but its a jump from a Celica Gt to a G35..

Dont forget the huge aftermarket support that the vq35 is getting. its like the honda B series or the toyota A series from the past. that engine is now in or plans to be in altima, maxima, 350z, g35, GT-R. also the qr25 is a spinoff of it but it is chocked at the end. the chassis is the z chassis i believe so suspension stuff should fit. on top of all of that Nissan has ecu's that arent as hard to decode as toyotas which while that says toyota put more into it it also means they get true aftermarket ecu and not some silly piggyback. i expect the same company that made the se-r cams of the past +15 hp nice to get some power from this engine. there might even be things you can steal from a z to gain power.

On the specs alone, the G35 is very attractive vs. its main competitors, the IS300 and 3 series BMWs. I think it looks as good as the others. Since it is so new, there hasn't been any direct comparisons in the mags between them, so it is tough to say what's what without driving them.
If it were me, I wouldn't get any of them, I like a small, light, sporty car, Miata, MR2, that's my bag. But if you want a sedan, you have to throw the cheap inside and out WRX, with it's great powertrain to back it up though, in the mix as well. If you feel the need to mod and go crazy fast, AWD and a turbo alrerady installed is juicy. If luxury, image (a Cali craze) and a little speed are your game, then those are the three to consider. The new Cady is suppose to be something, but like any other American piece of junk, that will be left in the dust. You do have the advantage of the widespread use of the 3.5l engine through out Nissan in the aftermarket. If mommy and daddy aren't buying you the car anytime soon, wait until some real press gets out on it before you get your spoiled panties in a wad.
