View Full Version : Hooks (Underbody)

I was wondering what the hooks in the front are for? they are the hooks on each side of the crossmember, painted to match exterior. I got in a car accident and it seems that the hooks are bent up out of shape and I want to know what is their use.

EDIT: I want to know if since those are bent what else would I have to check for for damage?

towing....you should have two in the rears as well

Any pics? I thought the front only had one triangle shaped tow hook, right near the center under the front engine mount?

The hooks are used for securing the car on a transport vehicle on its way to the dealer

so my car is okay then right? it seems like they are the only parts that are messed up, with a few scratches on the crossmember... the oil pan seems like its the lowest part of the car, and it ain't bent or scratched or whatever... and I was wondering, it may be a stupid question, but I'm wondering if a body shop could straighten out the bent hooks? I would post pics but I don't really know how... oh and one more thing, is it normal if at 70+ mph the car starts humming...., like hummmmm....hummmmm... Thanx, I know I may sound stupid, but no flames please :)

Well there are other "hooks" under the front, look in my album and you should see...
