ok now
gettin pretty fed up of shopping for rims and tires

1) i wanted 235-40-17; cant find a rims model i like in 17x8

2) ive found some 17x7.5, 30mm; 215mm tires dont match stock celica diameter

3) so im considering resorting to 205-45-17 with 17x7 .. perfect stock diameter wheel and plenty of rim choices

question
a) what offset will set my wheels like 17x7.5 30mm offset?

whatever it is, it will be a wider stance than stock 205-50-16 with +37ish mm offset

b) now will this wider stance provide for equal, or very similar handling as a 215 tire would on 17x7.5??

any input would be appreciated thank you

Go with a 215/40/R17

anything different will **** up your acceleration and gear ratios

offset of 38mm

Call TireRack for more help.

go with the 17x7.5 30mm offset... going with the 37 will only pull your wheels closer into the fender...

if i go 17x7.5, it will be +30 offset
but that was not my question

Use the tire calculator

215/40/R17 is pretty darn close to stock diameter.
