anyone painted their taillights? i have a 2001 w/ the ugly orange strip that i would love to get rid of...post pics and the how to

to get rid of that orange strip u have to buy bat overlay kit which is like 9 bucks...and u just place it over and it turns red....

you can paint them yourself, or get some vinyl from bat.

get some of this from your local hobby store (such as Hobbytown)

just mask off the areas you don't want to paint (cover everything but the orange part). spray in 2-3 very light coats, wait a few minutes in between coats. wait a half hour or so before taking off your masking tape after your final coat of paint so you don't mess up the paint job.

um I forgot to tell you to clean your taillights first before painting but I suppose that's common sense.

Mine were painted from the inside and it looks like its stock color was red.

Some angles and certain lighting conditions you will see a little yellow. Also the turn signal doesn't have the same deep red color od the brake light.

Dont paint it urself cuz it will fade and then it will look like ****...just get bats vinyl. That way if u have to go back to stock its e z.

Get Bat's Vinyl kit... it's the BEST... i have it and no problems, and install was cake... i recommend it!!! :thumbup:
