Does anyoen have this problem?

I put this in the mod forum but maybe it belongs here. I was racing some guy from in a v6 stang on the way back from lunch. At the light I floor it, shift into 2nd and pow! Nuttin. Great launch, pull out ahead and when I shifted fro 2nd gear it felt like there was a wall there. Is it me? Am I hitting the shift gate? Could it be a 2nd gear syncro problem? Any ideas fellas? I have a GTS w/TRM and AEM CAI.

You probably just hit the reverse gate on the left. Try shifting with your hand inverted: thumb pointed downward, index and middle fingers towards the front of the car, pulling the shifter into 2nd. This will prevent you from pulling to the left while shifting into second. You can also use this for 3-4 and 5-6 shifts.

Ya I have this problem sometimes as well...pisses me off. I heard it can be the syncro's but i dont think so cause it doesn't happen all the time...I also heard a SS may help as it is much stiffer and more precise...

Try to shift better. Instead of jerking it around learn your car. One good shift that take a full second is better than a half second attempt that grinds gears and takes 2 seconds to get back into gear.

yep have the same problem too. only happens when im flooring it though.
