RSX Interior

This is the interior a lot of people are going gaga for???

How is that better then the Celica? I got the pick from edmunds where they complain about the plasic in the Celica..........um, scuse me, but that looks like there's quite a bit of plastic in that thing as well. That also gives me a "sedan-ish" kind of feel for it. I think I saw pics of Accord's with dash kits and the interior design looked very similar to the RSX. Not really sporty IMO.

Please don't take this as a flame, but I am just trying to point out that it seems kind of strange to have people complain about the Celica interior and claim that to be sooo much better. I just don't see it. Please enlighten me if there is something out of the view of that picture that totally changes the look of the interior.

Oh, hehehe, I also just read from edmunds about the factory 6" sub in the rear wheel well. Lemme just say that's kinda funny. Hehehe, my computer has a 6" sub. It's great and all that they're trying to include A sub with the car stock, but come on, 6"??? And a BOSE at that.


Oh oh, and that factory radio area doesn't look too aftermarket friendly :( baaaad Honda/BOSE, baaaaad :nono:

The sad thing about the stereo , is everybody still says the Celica's is better. Even honda owners that have test drove it.
I am still , like you, wondering what the big deal is about that interior. I don't get it at all. OH WAIT it's a Honda... so automatically that must mean it's better than everything according to any magazine...

personally i liked it.. it flowed.. things I hated about the Ceilca interior that the RSX didnt have.. like the cup holder.. WTF was toyota thinking :)

Actually that cupholder comes in handy, I use it to keep spare change.

well i have to say i love the interior of my car, but when i sat inside my friend's rsx-s the interior was top notch. The dash board wasn't plastic, it had a nice feel to it, not a hollow feeling, and same with everything else in the interior, acura paid a lot of attention to the quality of the interior. compared to the celica's interior quality, the rsx's is much better. but i personally like the look of the celica's interior better.

I was wondering if anyone ever trys to put an aftermarket stereo in there i think it would look ugly. A nice monitor or tv would fit nicely into that spot though

Don't go by pics alone. Make an opinion by actually sitting in the car. The materials Acura chose to use are top notch, and it's more than just what you can see, but texture and how the switches/knobs, etc. feel.

And yes, Acura's Bose systems have never been very impressive. The one in the RSX-S is no exception, despite the sub in the spare tire well (nice try tho). The Celica's premium system is brighter and cleaner. Not that it matters really... any real audio enthusiast is going to end up swapping everything out anyway.

Question: Are the RSX's doors wrapped in that kinda cushy vinyl? The kind that is soft to the touch. If it is then it gets points for that, I have that same kinda stuff in my old Corona and its niiiiiice.

I LOVED the seats on that car! They were even more supportive than the Celica's. The gauges are also very nice, and the cup holder/change holder was a neat idea. Other than that, I could care less about the material either company used.

I like the layout of the celica interior better but I like the fit and finish of the acura interior better( gauges, materials, how it glows red at night). Too bad they couldn't make the outside of the rsx look as good as the interior, which is why I bought the celica:)

Actually the seats are not Recaros. They may be designed by Recaro, but they are not like the Recaros you buy. You need to sit in an RSX at night, much nicer than a Celica.

The RSX has an amazing interior. I sat in a Type-S and saw very little plastic. It reminded me of a luxury car.

i love how the celica center dash just flows into the center island/armrest. i can recall reading an rx7 catalog when i was in junior high and just falling in love with that style.

The RSX interior has far better quality than the Celica's, no doubt about that. I do however like the look of the Celica's interior far more than the RSX. One thing that bugs me is the seat thing, everybody talks about how great the RSX seats are but they feel/look exactly the same as mine.

I agree with what a lot of people are saying. The RSX's interior uses higher quality materials but i just don't like the shape. I hate how the Integra and the RSX come out towards you at the top and the then recede in towards the engine bay down near the shifter. I love how the the celica is smooth flowing and everything is accessible. I also don't like how the RSX's gauges are red...it's really agitating and unrelaxed to me. I've also never been a fan of the white gauges...

You can't find Celica quality plastic (hard and easy to scratch) on many cars nowadays.

I have a question about the air vents. The 3g eclipse have air vents like the celicas but they were out before the celica. but, was the xyr concept out before the 3g eclipse was?

Our celica interior is cheap.. too much plastic....
I've never sat in RSX but i am sure it will be like the Integra... i love em soft leatherette and stuff.. i love ACURA interiors... i really dont like the rough feeling of plastic.... as far as looks go, celica takes da crown all da way.

What do you consider makes a better interior?? No plastic?? Well the celicas might have more plastic than the RSX's but what matters most, what the dash is made out of or how it looks and the functionality. Honestly, if you like your celica's interior and have no problems with it, correct me if im wrong but who cares. It's not like we buy a car based on what the dash is made out of, at least I don't.

Personally I dont like the rsx interior. The ac knobs look dinky ass hell and I prefer a more sporty feel, like and enterior that sorta wraps around the driver like the celica. Also, bring on the plastic man, less weight more speed.
